The men's 10,000 m speed skating competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics took place on February 11 at Beijing's National Speed Skating Oval ("Ice Ribbon"). Nils van der Poel of Sweden won gold, setting a new world record with a time of 12:38.92, which also made him the first skater to win both the 5000 m and 10,000 m events at the same Olympics. Patrick Roest of the Netherlands secured silver, while Davide Ghiotto of Italy earned bronze, marking his first individual Olympic medal.

Ted-Jan Bloemen of the Netherlands was the defending champion but did not win. The qualification process involved 12 entry quotas, with up to two athletes per nation. The top eight qualifiers came from the 2021–22 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, while the remaining four were selected based on their best times. Van der Poel was leading the World Cup standings at long distances before the Olympics and had already set a season-best time of 12:38.92 in Stavanger.

During the competition, Graeme Fish initially led but was overtaken by Roest. In pair five, van der Poel broke the world record. Ghiotto briefly held an advantage over Roest but ultimately settled for bronze. The final pair did not change the medal standings.

Prior to the event, Bloemen held both the Olympic and track records, which were eventually surpassed during the competition.
