Sheri Lynette Sam, born on May 5, 1974, in Lafayette, Louisiana, is an American professional women's basketball coach and player. As the youngest of eight siblings, she excelled at Acadiana High School before graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1996. She competed with USA Basketball, earning a bronze medal in the 1995 Jones Cup and a gold medal in the 1996 event, where she led the team with 13 points per game.

After college, Sam played three seasons with the San Jose Lasers in the ABL before it disbanded. She joined the WNBA's Orlando Miracle in 1999 but was waived before the 2000 season and signed by the Miami Sol, where she stayed until the team folded in 2002. Acquired by the Minnesota Lynx in a dispersal draft, she moved to the Seattle Storm via trade in 2004, winning the WNBA Finals that year. After becoming a free agent, she signed with the Charlotte Sting in 2005 and later joined the Indiana Fever after the Sting's dissolution in 2007. She ended her WNBA career with the Detroit Shock in 2008.

Sam also played overseas during off-seasons for Elitzur Ramla in Israel (2007-08) and Panionios in Greece (2008-09). Post-retirement, she coached at Eastern Illinois University from 2013 to 2017. She transitioned to administrative roles at Mercy High School and the Bay School of San Francisco before becoming Managing Director of the Northern California PGA Foundation in September 2020.
