Roburent
Roburent is a comune in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont region, Italy. It is located about 80 kilometers south of Turin and 30 kilometers southeast of Cuneo. As of January 1, 2009, its population was 552. The comune covers an area of 29.9 square kilometers, mostly wooded, with elevations ranging from 580 to 1,819 meters above sea level. It spans the Corsaglia and Casotto valleys and borders six municipalities: Frabosa Soprana, Garessio, Montaldo di Mondovì, Ormea, Pamparato, and Torre Mondovì.
The main population centers are Roburent itself, at 788 meters with 183 inhabitants in 2001, and San Giacomo, at 1,011 meters with 247 residents. A third center, Pra, is located at 1,014 meters and had a population of 12. There are also eight minor settlements: Cardini (35 people), Costacalda (6), Mondini (14), Montà (12), Mottoni (2), Nasi (9), Patelle (7), and Zitella (8).
Since the First World War, Roburent's population has steadily declined. It peaked at 1,919 in 1911 before dropping to 552 by early 2009. This trend reflects broader demographic changes in the region over the past century.
