Prigorodny District is an administrative and municipal district in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, with an area of 3,513 square kilometers (1,356 sq mi). The administrative center is the city of Nizhny Tagil, which is not part of the district. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Gornouralsky Urban Okrug. The population of the district was 38,527 in 2010, down from 43,488 in 2002 and 52,651 in 1989.

Administratively, Prigorodny District is one of thirty districts in Sverdlovsk Oblast. Nizhny Tagil serves as its administrative center but is incorporated separately as an urban okrug with district-level status. Municipally, the district is designated as Gornouralsky Urban Okrug, distinct from Nizhny Tagil Urban Okrug.

The boundaries and municipal statuses were established by regional laws in 2004 and 2007, with subsequent amendments. These legal frameworks define the administrative and territorial divisions within Sverdlovsk Oblast, ensuring clarity in governance and jurisdictional limits.
