Popular Alliance San Marino
The Popular Alliance (Alleanza Popolare, AP) was a liberal-centrist political party in San Marino established in 1993 as an anti-establishment movement, paralleling the rise of Lega Nord in Italy. Over time, it became a significant political force in San Marino, participating in various government coalitions with other parties.
In the 2006 general election, AP won 12.1% of the vote and secured 7 out of 60 seats in the Grand and General Council, making it the third-largest party in the country. In 2008, after a governing coalition collapse, AP joined the centrist Pact for San Marino coalition with PDCS, winning 11.5% of the vote and 7 seats out of the coalition's total of 35.
Following a political crisis in 2011, AP formed the San Marino Common Good alliance with PDCS, which won the 2012 general election despite AP losing three seats. For the 2016 election, AP broke from PDCS and joined Union for the Republic (UpR) to form the Future Republic electoral list as part of the Adesso.sm coalition. This coalition won eleven seats in the election's second round.
On 24 February 2017, AP and UpR officially merged to form the political party Future Republic.
