Louisa Harland
Louisa Clare Harland, born in 1993 or 1994, is an Irish actress known for her roles as Orla McCool in the Channel 4 sitcom *Derry Girls* (2018–2022) and as Nell Jackson in the Disney+ series *Renegade Nell* (2024). She grew up in Dundrum, South Dublin, with two older sisters, Katie and Ellie, and was part of the Ann Kavanagh Youth Theatre. Harland trained at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
Her career began with a recurring role as Kayleigh in *Love/Hate* (2011) on RTÉ One. She appeared in films including *Rob Burke's Standby* (2014) and *Lost in London* (2017). In 2017, she was cast as Orla McCool in *Derry Girls*, which aired from 2018 to 2022. Harland also performed in radio adaptations of plays for BBC Radio 4, including *Endless Second* (2021) and *Snowflake* (2022). She appeared in the film *Boys from County Hell* (2020) and, with her *Derry Girls* co-stars, performed a sketch with Saoirse Ronan for RTÉ’s COVID-19 fundraising special.
Harland lives in London and, as of 2023, is in a relationship with English actor Calvin Demba.
