José Luis Carranza Vivanco (born 8 January 1964) is a former Peruvian footballer who played as a midfielder for Universitario de Deportes throughout his entire club career, spanning from 1985 to 2004. He made his professional debut on 13 May 1986 against Club Bolívar in Bolivia and became a symbol of the club, playing over 19 years. Carranza won multiple Peruvian league titles in 1985, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1998, 1999, and 2000. He holds the record for playing the most derbies against traditional rival Alianza Lima and was honored by having his number 22 retired by Universitario.

Carranza represented Peru in international football, earning 55 caps between 1988 and 1997. He played in three Copa América tournaments, three World Cup qualification rounds, and 10 editions of the Copa Libertadores, where he surpassed Hector Chumpitaz as the player with the most games for Universitario in that competition. His first international appearance was on 21 September 1988 against Paraguay, and his last was on 16 November 1997, also against Paraguay.

His final professional match was on 26 December 2004, where he scored a goal, and he played in a testimonial match on 6 April 2005, attended by notable South American players. Carranza turned down offers from clubs in Argentina, Ecuador, and Spain to remain at Universitario. After retiring, he became a football coach, opened a youth academy, and managed a popular seafood restaurant. He unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Comas District, Lima, focusing on infrastructure improvements and local football support.
