Hugh James Wyld T.D. (16 April 1880 – 9 December 1961) was an English cricketer, right-handed batsman, and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Born in Kensington, London, he educated at Harrow School and Magdalen College, Oxford, later serving as a British Army officer.

Wyld's cricket career began with a single Minor Counties Championship match for Buckinghamshire in 1899. He made his first-class debut for Oxford University against Sussex in 1900, followed by appearances for Marylebone Cricket Club and Middlesex. Over four seasons (1900–1903), he played 27 first-class matches for Oxford University, scoring 908 runs at an average of 20.17, with a highest score of 85 against HDG Leveson-Gower's XI in 1902.

In his military career, Wyld was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the Hertfordshire Yeomanry on 4 March 1903, rising to the rank of major by 1913. He served until 1922 when he resigned his commission, retaining the rank of major and receiving the Territorial Decoration for over twelve years of service.

Wyld's personal life included two daughters: Barbara married David Hely-Hutchinson in 1934, and Diana wed cricketer Wilfred Hill-Wood in 1947. He lived at Beverstone Old Rectory in Gloucestershire, where he died on 9 December 1961.
