Holwell Sports Football Club is based in Asfordby Hill near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England, and currently competes in the United Counties League Division One. The club was founded in 1902 as Holwell Works and initially joined the Leicester & District League, winning back-to-back titles in 1907–08 and 1908–09. They moved to the Leicestershire Senior League in 1909, securing the championship in 1911–12. After a brief stint in the Central Alliance, they rejoined the Leicestershire Senior League following its re-establishment and experienced periods of promotion and relegation between divisions.

In 1954–55, Holwell finished as Division One runners-up, repeating this feat in 1957–58. The club yo-yoed between divisions throughout the 1960s, earning promotions and facing relegations multiple times. They left the league in 1976 but rejoined in 1979 after a spell in the Leicester & District League. By 1983, they were promoted to the Premier Division (formerly Division One), winning titles in 1987–88, 1991–92, and 1992–93 under their new name, Holwell Sports. The club also won the League Cup in 2005–06.

Holwell joined the East Midlands Counties League as a founder member in 2008 and were transferred to the United Counties League Division One at the end of the 2017–18 season. Their honours include multiple league championships, cup victories, and appearances in the FA Cup and FA Vase. The club’s best performances in these competitions were reaching the first qualifying round of the FA Cup (2014–15, 2015–16) and the third round of the FA Vase (2013–14).
