Gerald Thomas Walsh, born on April 25, 1942, in Manhattan, is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He was the eldest child of police officer Thomas Walsh and homemaker Anne Walsh, with siblings Michael and Monica. Walsh attended several schools before earning degrees at Iona College and St. Joseph's Seminary.

Ordained a priest on May 27, 1967, by Cardinal Francis Spellman, Walsh served in various roles including parochial vicar, social work, and head of the Department of Family and Children's Services at Catholic Charities. He was elevated to Monsignor in 1990 and later became a pastor and regional vicar.

Appointed Auxiliary Bishop of New York on June 28, 2004, Walsh received episcopal consecration on September 21, 2004. His motto, "That All May Be One," reflects his commitment to unity as a bishop. He also served as rector of St. Joseph's Seminary from 2007 to 2013, the only American bishop to hold that position.

Walsh became Vicar General in 2013 and retired on September 5, 2017, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 75. He has been associated with the Knights of Columbus since 1980 and enjoys handball and walking, though a knee injury has limited his activities.
