Danielle Galligan
Danielle Galligan is an Irish actress, theatre maker, and poet born on December 1, 1992. She is known for her roles in the Netflix series *Shadow and Bone* (2021–2023) and the RTÉ series *Obituary* (2023). Her film work includes *Lakelands* (2022). Galligan grew up in Rathfarnham, Dublin, where her mother, Lorraine, runs a salon. She attended Loreto High School Beaufort and was part of Ann Kavanagh's Young People's Theatre from 2005 to 2011. She studied Drama and Theatre Studies at Trinity College Dublin and trained in Acting at The Lir Academy, graduating in 2015. Galligan began her theatre career with productions like *The Train* and later appeared in plays such as *All Honey*, *Cinderella*, and *Lyrics and Cinnamon*. In 2018, she co-founded the experimental theatre company Chaos Factory, debuting with *Kiss Kiss Slap* at the Dublin Fringe Festival. She also worked on projects like *MorphMe* and *Summertime*, which earned her a Best Duo nomination at the Dublin Fringe Festival. In television and film, Galligan appeared in early short films like *Strangers in the Park* (which she co-wrote) and *Pernicio*. Her TV debut came in 2019 with roles in *Game of Thrones* and *Krypton*. She gained prominence as Nina Zenik in *Shadow and Bone*, becoming a series regular in season 2.
