Chyna Whyte
Stephanie Christine Lewis, known as Chyna Whyte, is an American rapper born on September 18, 1974, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She began rapping as a child and pursued her career seriously from 1992. After sending demo tapes to various labels without success, she gained attention from Lil Jon at So So Def Records, leading her to collaborate with him on projects like the unreleased album with Full Time Family. She featured in Lil Jon's albums and released singles such as "Blocka Blocka" and "Thug For Life."
Chyna faced legal challenges, serving five months in prison and house arrest but continued performing. After Hurricane Katrina, she returned to Atlanta in 2005. Her solo album plans were delayed by pregnancy in 2002. She has featured on numerous artists' albums, including Too Short's "You Nasty," and produced mixtapes like *The Whyte Out*. Additionally, she founded Seed Shop LLC for publishing and is affiliated with BMI since 1997. Her contributions include receiving Multi-Platinum and Gold RIAA plaques for her work with Lil Jon & The Eastside Boys' albums.
