Chinna Thambi is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language soap opera that aired on Vijay TV from October 2, 2017, to June 21, 2019, spanning 442 episodes. It is a remake of the Bengali serial Khokababu and follows the story of Chinna Thambi, an innocent village boy from Chinnalapatti, and Nandhini, an arrogant city girl from Chennai, who fall in love after marriage despite their contrasting personalities and values.

The plot revolves around Chinna Thambi, a naive and morally grounded young man who strictly adheres to his mother’s teachings, and Nandhini, a modern city girl with a good heart but initially dislike for Chinna Thambi. Their lives intersect when Nandhini’s engagement to Gautham ends due to his arrest on their wedding day, leading her parents to arrange her marriage to Chinna Thambi in haste. Initially resentful of her new village life, Nandhini struggles with cultural differences but eventually begins to adapt.

The show stars Prajin as Chinna Thambi and Pavani Reddy as Nandhini, supported by a large ensemble cast. The title is inspired by the 1991 Tamil film Chinna Thambi, translating to "Little Brother." Production highlights include its village love story setting and the casting of actors like Lokesh, Priya, and Franklin in key roles. The first promo was released on September 23, 2017, generating anticipation for the series.
