Battle in the Valley 2024
Battle in the Valley was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), held on January 13, 2024, at the San Jose Civic in California. This marked the third event in the Battle in the Valley series and featured wrestlers from NJPW's partner promotions, including All Elite Wrestling (AEW), World Wonder Ring Stardom, Major League Wrestling (MLW), and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The event included 11 matches, with Kazuchika Okada defeating Will Ospreay in the main event. Other notable bouts saw Shingo Takagi triumph over Jon Moxley in a No Disqualification match and The Chosen Bros (Jeff Cobb and Matt Riddle) emerging victorious against TMDK (Bad Dude Tito and Zack Sabre Jr.). A significant highlight was the unannounced NJPW debut of AEW performer Jack Perry, who had been absent from wrestling since his suspension following a backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In 2023. During the event, Perry attacked Shota Umino, tore up his AEW contract in the ring, and donned an armband reading "scapegoat." The event was part of NJPW's expansion into the United States, which began in October 2019 with the establishment of New Japan Pro-Wrestling of America (NJoA). NJPW Strong, a weekly series produced by NJoA, was launched in July 2020. Starting in January 2023, all NJPW events in America were branded under the "Strong" name.
