Arthur James Read, born on 3 November 1999, is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for EFL League Two club Colchester United. He developed through Luton Town's academy, starting at under-9 level and earning a scholarship in February 2016. Read made his first-team debut for Luton Town on 8 November 2016 in an EFL Trophy match against Millwall and signed a three-year professional contract shortly after. During his time with Luton, he primarily played for the development and under-18 teams, winning the Bedfordshire Premier Cup in 2016 and the Youth Alliance Cup in 2018. He also had a one-month loan spell at Hemel Hempstead Town, making five appearances. Read left Luton in 2019 after seven first-team appearances and one goal.

In July 2019, he joined Brentford's B team on a one-year contract with an option for an additional year. After making 30 appearances and scoring five goals in his first season, Brentford extended his contract in July 2020. However, Read spent the entire 2020–21 season on loan at Stevenage, where he made 38 appearances, scored two goals, and later joined permanently.

Read signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Colchester United on 3 January 2023. His honors include being named Stevenage's Player of the Month in October and December 2020, as well as Colchester United's Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year for the 2023–24 season.
