Anne no Nikki: Anne Frank Monogatari (1979) is a Japanese animated film directed by Eiji Okabe, marking the first animated adaptation of Anne Frank's *The Diary of a Young Girl*. Produced by Nippon Animation and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation to commemorate Anne Frank's 50th birthday, the film incorporates four of Anne's short fantasy stories as interludes during her family's confinement in Amsterdam. It features an interview with Otto Frank, Anne's father, and includes live-action footage from Nazi concentration camps and Dutch landscapes. The film premiered on TV Asahi on September 28, 1979, but has never been re-broadcast or released on home video since.

The story follows Anne Frank, a 13-year-old Jewish girl hiding with her family and friends in an Amsterdam attic to evade the Nazis during World War II. The film's opening and ending themes were sung by Seagulls, with lyrics by Tokiko Iwatani and music composed by Kōichi Sakata. Known for its emotional depth, it is considered a precursor to child-focused war anime such as *Barefoot Gen* and *Grave of the Fireflies*. Despite its historical significance, Anne no Nikki remains unavailable for modern audiences.
