Anke Engelke
Anke Christina Fischer (née Engelke; born 21 December 1965) is a versatile German entertainer known for her work as a comedian, actress, voice actress, and television presenter. Born in Montreal, Canada, she moved to Cologne, Germany, with her parents in 1971. She displayed early singing talent, which led to her discovery by Georg Bossert in 1978 during a school choir performance. Engelke's career began in children's television, hosting shows like *Moment mal* (1978–1980) and *Pfiff*. She later joined SWF3 as an editor and presenter until 1998. In 1989, she became a vocalist with Fred Kellner und die famosen Soul Sisters and joined the SWF3-Comedy-Ensemble Gagtory in 1993. From 1996 to 2000, she was part of *Die Wochenshow* on Sat.1 alongside notable comedians. Engelke won a Grimme Prize in 2003 for her improv work in *Blind Date 2 – Taxi nach Schweinau*. She provided voices for characters like Dory in *Finding Nemo* and Jane Porter in *Tarzan*. She also became the German voice of Marge Simpson on *The Simpsons* after Elisabeth Volkmann's passing in 2006. Engelke has hosted major events, including the European Film Awards from 2009 to 2012 and the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011. In 2012, she addressed human rights issues during her role as Germany's spokesperson at Eurovision in Baku, Azerbaijan. She continued her involvement with Eurovision by hosting *Unser Song für Malmö* in 2013.
