Andy Hardys Blonde Trouble
Andy Hardy's Blonde Trouble is a 1944 romantic comedy film directed by George B. Seitz, featuring Mickey Rooney as Andy Hardy in the fourteenth installment of the series. The film follows Andy as he starts college at Wainwright College, which has recently become coeducational. On the train to college, Andy meets Kay Wilson (Bonita Granville) and encounters Dr. Standish (Herbert Marshall), who later becomes his faculty advisor.
Upon arriving at Wainwright College, Andy faces trouble when he discovers his father forgot his train ticket. He also encounters Lyn and Lee Walker (Wilde Twins), who plan to attend college together by posing as a single student due to their parents' strict rules. The twins manipulate Andy into giving them $37.95 after convincing him they are one person through an identity-switching scheme.
As Andy navigates his college life, he struggles with the confusion caused by the twins and considers quitting. However, he eventually helps them resolve their issues. The film was produced at MGM Studios in Culver City, California, with location shooting in Reno, Nevada. Filming took place from July to September 1943, before Mickey Rooney's induction into the US Army in June 1944. The movie was released later that year.
