2011 Connecticut Sun season
The 2011 WNBA season marked the 13th year of the Connecticut Sun franchise and their ninth season in Connecticut. Key transactions included re-signing Tan White and Kerri Gardin on February 3, signing draft pick Danielle McCray on February 14, and several other signings and waivers throughout the season, including Rachele Fitz, Stefanie Murphy, Adrienne Johnson, Tahnee Robinson, Sydney Colson, Kalana Greene, Jessica Moore, DeMya Walker, and Jessica Breland.
The Sun made notable trades, such as acquiring draft rights to Tahnee Robinson from the Phoenix Mercury and trading draft rights to Sydney Colson for Kalana Greene. Tina Charles was a standout player, earning multiple WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week awards in June, July, and August, as well as being named Player of the Month for June. She also earned a spot on the 2011 WNBA All-Star Team as a starter, was selected to the All-Defensive Second Team, and made the All-WNBA First Team while averaging 11.0 rebounds per game. Renee Montgomery was named to the All-Star Team as a reserve.
