Busbud is a travel website specializing in intercity bus tickets, offering services across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Founded in 2011 by LP Maurice after his challenging experience booking buses in South America, Busbud partners with over 4,500 companies to provide coverage in 21,000 cities, 84 countries, and 3.8 million routes. The platform is accessible via desktop, mobile web, iOS, and Android apps.

Busbud has secured significant funding, including a $1.2 million seed round in 2013, $9 million in 2014, and an $11 million Series B round in 2018, led by investors like Inovia Capital and OMERS Ventures. These funds have supported team growth, route expansion, and app development.

Key features include support for 30 currencies (added in 2017), payment options like Apple Pay (2017) and Google Pay (2019), and interconnected routes (2018) allowing multi-operator bookings. Customer reviews were introduced in April 2018 to enhance user experience.

Busbud expanded its inventory through partnerships with major companies such as Greyhound (2014), Flixbus (2015), and ADO in Mexico (2018). It entered Southeast Asia in 2017 and Southern Africa in 2018, further broadening its reach. Acquiring Clickbus Turkey in November 2018 strengthened its presence in Turkey, making Busbud the first international platform to offer local currency and language booking for ADO tickets.
