Declan Cross
Declan Cross (born July 25, 1993) is a former professional Canadian football fullback who played six seasons for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He won Grey Cup and Yates Cup championships during his career. While playing CIS football with the McMaster Marauders from 2012 to 2015 as a Receiver/H-Back, Cross recorded 34 rushes for 228 yards, 47 receptions for 469 yards, and five touchdowns. The team won the Yates Cup in 2012 and 2014, and he was named McMaster’s Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2014. Drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2016 CFL Draft (fourth round, 27th overall), Cross made his debut in the 2016 season, dressing for all 18 games and making his first career reception in the Labour Day Classic. He scored his first touchdown on July 24, 2017, during a game against the Ottawa Redblacks. In the same year, he won his first Grey Cup with the Argonauts, recording five catches for 36 yards and two two-point conversion scores. Over the next few seasons, Cross continued to play in all 18 games each year, contributing as both a receiver and blocker. However, injuries and changes in offensive strategies limited his role in later years. Despite this, he remained a key leader on the team. In 2021, he played in all 14 regular season games, recording four receptions for 36 yards and six special teams tackles.
