New Holland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Douglas County, South Dakota, with a population of 77 as of the 2020 census. The community was named after early settlers who were primarily from Holland. It covers a total area of 0.1 square miles, entirely land.

As of the 2000 census, New Holland had 78 residents, 39 households, and 21 families. The population density was 669.6 people per square mile, with 44 housing units averaging 377.7 per square mile. The racial composition was predominantly White (96.15%) and Native American (3.85%). Household characteristics included 17.9% with children under 18, 53.8% married couples, and 43.6% non-families. A significant portion of households (43.6%) consisted of individuals, with 35.9% having someone aged 65 or older living alone.

The age distribution showed 21.8% under 18, 2.6% from 18 to 24, 19.2% from 25 to 44, 20.5% from 45 to 64, and 35.9% aged 65 or older, with a median age of 54. The sex ratio was 73.3 males per 100 females overall, and 69.4 males per 100 females aged 18 and over.

Economically, the median household income was $23,750, and the median family income was $31,875. Males had a median income of $19,500 compared to $48,750 for females, with a per capita income of $13,016.
