"Green Eyes" is a 1977 American made-for-television war drama film directed by John Erman and written by Eugene Logan and David Seltzer. The film follows Lloyd Dubeck (Paul Winfield), a Vietnam veteran who is both physically and emotionally wounded. After being released from a VA hospital, Lloyd struggles to find work and reintegrate into society. His mother has saved money for him to attend college, but instead, he decides to return to Saigon in search of a Vietnamese woman named Em Thuy (Victoria Racimo), with whom he fathered a child he has never met. The only information he has about his child is that it’s a boy with green eyes. During his journey, Lloyd meets an orphan named Trung (Lemi), who initially tricks him but later helps him reconnect with an old army buddy, Noel Cousins (Jonathan Goldsmith). Cousins, who faked his own death to desert the Army, assists Lloyd in his search. Lloyd also befriends Margaret Sheen (Rita Tushingham), who runs a reception center for orphans. She warns Lloyd that mixed-race children are often shunned in Vietnamese society and that finding his child may be impossible. Despite the challenges, Lloyd spends his time and money helping orphaned children in Saigon. Eventually, he learns that his biological son is dead, and Em Thuy has another child with a different American serviceman.
