Harri Olli
Harri Juhani Olli, born on 15 January 1985, is a Finnish former ski jumper who competed at World Cup level from 2002 to 2016. He achieved three individual World Cup wins, four individual Continental Cup victories, and an individual silver medal at the 2007 World Championships. Despite his talent, Olli faced challenges with discipline, including alcohol-related incidents that led to dismissals from the national team in 2008 and 2010.
In 2009, he secured his first World Cup win in Oberstdorf with a record-breaking jump of 225.5 meters, which remained unbroken for eight years. He went on to win two more World Cup events that season. However, during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, Olli's performance was inconsistent, and he faced disqualification in one event due to a suit violation.
His career saw sporadic success, with finishes ranging from 11th to 14th in various standings. In 2010, he was suspended for flipping the bird after a poor jump, leading to speculation about personal or external pressures affecting his behavior.
Olli returned to competition in December 2013 and has made sporadic appearances since. Currently residing in Lahti, he is pursuing a degree in Mathematics at the University of Rovaniemi.
