Milo "Gene" Harmon, a 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) American college basketball player, played as a small forward for Creighton University from 1971 to 1974 under Coach Eddie Sutton. He was the team's leading scorer and Most Valuable Player (MVP) during all three years he played on the varsity level, including his sophomore through senior seasons due to NCAA rules prohibiting freshmen from competing at the varsity level. Harmon left Creighton as the fourth-leading scorer in university history with 1,369 points.

In 1974, Harmon was part of Eddie Sutton's first NCAA tournament team. He scored 22 points in the final game against the University of Louisville to secure a third-place finish in the Midwest Regional. Creighton won two games (against the University of Texas and University of Louisville) but lost to the University of Kansas in the round of 16. Harmon averaged 20 points during the tournament, with a perfect 10–10 free-throw record, earning him a spot on the 1974 Midwest All-Regional Team.

That same year, Harmon was named an AP Honorable Mention All-American and selected to play in the 1974 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) College All-Star Game as a representative of the West team. After his college career, he was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 17th pick in the sixth round of the 1974 NBA draft.
