The People's Palace, located at 308 Edward Street in Brisbane's CBD, is a heritage-listed building designed by Colonel Saunders and constructed between 1910 and 1911 as a temperance hotel by the Salvation Army. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on October 21, 1992. The concept originated from Commandant Herbert Booth in July 1899, initially intended as a shelter but later developed into a hotel offering affordable accommodation for travelers.

The building features 130 rooms, a basement, and a rooftop garden, with construction beginning in March 1910. It was decorated for Coronation Day in 1911 and officially opened on June 28 of that year. Situated near Central Railway Station, it served as the Salvation Army's Queensland headquarters. In 1913, two additional storeys were added, necessitating fire safety measures.

The People's Palace is a notable example of Federation architecture, with red brick and cream render exterior, a corner tower, verandahs adorned with decorative cast iron, and dormer windows. Internally, it retains pressed metal ceilings and an original lift in the foyer. The building holds significance as a rare temperance hotel and landmark on Ann and Edward Streets, associated with the Salvation Army's historical work in Queensland.
