The Barrio Boyzz were an American Latin pop group composed of Puerto Rican members who grew up in New York City. They gained prominence in the 1990s and were label-mates with Selena. Their first Billboard number-one song, "Donde Quiera Que Estés," was released in 1993 from the album of the same name. The group was formed in 1991 by manager Joe Jacket, who aimed to create a mainstream Latino act. They were signed to SBK Records and aspired to crossover into mainstream pop, drawing inspiration from artists like Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, and Selena. Their debut album, *Crazy Coolin'*, was released in 1992 and promoted through tours at New York City schools, where they also gave motivational speeches. The single "Muy Suavemente" charted on the Billboard Latin Charts, with a music video filmed in NYC's barrios. Their 1993 album *Donde Quiera Que Estes* peaked at number seven on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart and number fifteen on the Top Latin Albums chart. A duet with Selena reached number one on three Billboard charts in 1994, helping them gain traction in the Southern U.S. Subsequent albums included *Una Vez Más* (1995), which peaked at number three on the Latin Pop Albums chart, and *How We Roll* (1995), their first all-English album.
