Something Ventured is a 2011 documentary exploring the rise of American venture capitalism in the mid-20th century. It highlights the roles of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in building companies like Apple, Intel, Genentech, Cisco, Atari, Tandem, and others, with a focus on Georges Doriot's influence. The film features interviews with prominent figures such as Arthur Rock, Tom Perkins, Don Valentine, Dick Kramlich, Reid Dennis, Bill Draper, Pitch Johnson, Bill Bowes, Bill Edwards, Jim Gaither, Gordon Moore, Jimmy Treybig, Nolan Bushnell, Herbert Boyer, Mike Markkula, Sandy Lerner, John Morgridge, and Robert Campbell. It includes archival photography and footage, airing on PBS in the U.S. and public television in Norway.

The documentary premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March 2011, co-executive produced by Paul Holland and Molly Davis. Directed by Emmy Award-winners Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine, known for films like Ballets Russes and Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song, it is distributed by Zeitgeist Films in North America.
