Andy Williams' thirty-sixth studio album, titled *Andy*, was released in fall 1976 by Columbia Records. Unlike his earlier work, this album focused on original or lesser-known songs rather than pop hits and standards. The recording process took place at six different studios to accommodate Williams' touring schedule, including a portable studio set up at a Marriott hotel. The album was reissued on CD in 2002 by Collectables Records with eight bonus tracks sourced from Williams' Columbia singles released between 1974 and 1979. These bonus tracks were included in a box set titled *Classic Album Collection, Vol. 2*, which featured 15 studio albums and two compilations and was released on November 29, 2002. Two of the bonus tracks, "Love Said Goodbye" (subtitled "Love Theme from The Godfather Part II") and "Are You in There?" (labeled as "Main Theme from King Kong"), were originally instrumental film score pieces with lyrics added specifically for Williams' recordings. Both tracks charted on Billboard: "Love Said Goodbye" reached number 24 on the Easy Listening chart in January 1975, while "Tell It Like It Is" peaked at number 17 on the same chart and number 72 on the Hot 100 in early 1976. These appearances marked Williams' final entries on both charts. The album's original track listing includes ten songs, with writers such as Craig Doerge, Kim Carnes, Bruce Johnston, and others contributing to its diverse musical style.
