Sayonee is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Nitin Kumar Gupta. The movie stars debutants Tanmay Ssingh and Musskan Sethi, alongside Rahul Roy, Yograj Singh, and Upasana Singh. It was released theatrically on December 18, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic when theaters operated at reduced capacity. The plot revolves around Rajdeep Randhawa (Tanmay Ssingh), a national shooting gold medalist and musician, who falls in love with Mahi (Musskan Sethi). Their romance blossoms in Punjab, but when Mahi travels to Russia for research, she mysteriously disappears. Rajdeep must navigate Russia's criminal underworld, facing corrupt police, human traffickers, and the Russian mafia to find her. Along the way, he encounters characters like Lena, a Hindi-speaking Russian stripper, and a police officer (Rahul Roy), uncovering unexpected truths about Mahi's disappearance. The film was produced by Lucky Nadiadwala Morani Productions and D&T Productions Pvt. Ltd., primarily shot in Russia and Punjab, India. The cinematography was notable for its depiction of Russian locations. The soundtrack includes a remake of the 1998 song "Sayonee" by Arijit Singh, who had sought permission to remake it for five years. Other contributors include B Praak and Mika Singh, with the latter performing "Ek Pappi."
