Stephen Fenberg is an American politician serving as the President of the Colorado Senate since February 2022, representing the 18th district as a Democratic Party member. Born on January 2, 1984, in Toledo, Ohio, he graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor's degree in environmental policy. During his college years, Fenberg co-founded New Era Colorado with Leslie Herod and Joe Neguse, an organization that registered over 150,000 voters while he served as its executive director.

Fenberg was elected to the Colorado Senate in 2016, defeating Republican M. Peter Spraitz, and re-elected in 2020 against Peg Cage. He assumed the role of Majority Leader in 2018 after defeating Rachel Zenzinger in the Democratic caucus. Following Leroy Garcia's resignation in 2022, Fenberg was selected by the Democratic caucus to become Senate President.

During his tenure, Fenberg has focused on several key legislative initiatives, including advocating for student loan debt relief, expanding voting rights for paroled felons, supporting gun control measures, and prohibiting conversion therapy on minors. He received strong ratings from progressive organizations, such as a 100% score from the AFL–CIO in 2018 and an A rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America in 2019. Fenberg has also endorsed prominent Democratic figures like Diana DeGette and Michael Bennet.

Fenberg's political career reflects his commitment to progressive policies and activism, both within Colorado's government and through his early work with New Era Colorado. Test
