Tony Cole musician

Tony Cole (born Branko Bernard Miler) was an Australian singer-songwriter who gained recognition for his contributions to music both in Australia and internationally. He began his career with the single "Boomerang Baby" in 1965 under the label Pakktel, backed by the Crestaires. After moving to the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, he released his debut album *If the Music Stops* (1972), which included singles like "Suite: Man and Woman" and "The King Is Dead." The latter was later adapted into French as "Gabrielle" for Johnny Hallyday, reaching No. 1 in France in 1976.

Cole co-wrote the song "Beg, Steal or Borrow," performed by the New Seekers at the Eurovision Song Contest 1972, where it finished second. His solo single "The Hook" (1973) achieved a minor hit in Australia. He also contributed to the soundtrack of Cliff Richard's film *Take Me High* (1973), though the album received mixed reviews. Additionally, his track "Gabrielle" returned to the French singles chart in 2017, reaching No. 13. His discography includes albums like *Magnificently Mad* (1973) and several notable singles throughout his career.
