The Gentlemen 2016 TV series

"The Gentlemen" (Chinese: 来自水星的男人) is a 20-episode Singaporean drama series produced and telecast by Mediacorp Channel 8. The show stars Chen Hanwei, Pierre Png, Aloysius Pang, Cynthia Koh, Paige Chua, and Carrie Wong as the main cast.

The plot revolves around the Zhang brothers, who come from a family of male chauvinists. The eldest brother, Zhang Naiping (Chen Hanwei), runs a maid agency and is going through a divorce with his wife, Zou Huimin (Cynthia Koh). The second brother, Zhang Nailiang (Pierre Png), is a ballet dancer pursuing a career in New York, while the youngest, Zhang Naiyi (Aloysius Pang), struggles with a fear of women with red nails due to a childhood trauma.

Other key characters include He Zhaodi (Jin Yinji), their late father’s widow; Xu Ruoqi (Kelly Liao), Nailiang's idolized dancer; and Wang Shengyi (Wang Yuqing) and his daughter, Wang Kaixin (Carrie Wong), who works at a lingerie shop. The series explores themes of family dynamics, personal struggles, and relationships.

The drama was announced in January 2016, with filming beginning in February of the same year. A press conference was held in July 2016. The show features cameos and collaborations between actors, including their second partnership as an on-screen couple for Aloysius Pang and Carrie Wong after "Life - Fear Not."

"The Gentlemen" won two awards at the Star Awards 2017. It was later repeated on Mediacorp Channel 8 at 8am, with snippets of upcoming episodes shown during the credits.
