  • The Blazing Sun* is a 1950 American Western film directed by John English and starring Gene Autry, Lynne Roberts, and Anne Gwynne. The plot follows Gene Autry, a private investigator for a banking association, as he pursues bank robbers Al Bartlett and Trot Lucas. The duo waylays Dr. Larry Taylor and his assistant Helen Ellis, stealing their horses and leaving them stranded. Autry rescues the pair and护送s them to White Water. In Los Robles, Helen's father, Tom Ellis, seeks help from local assayer Ben Luber to evaluate ore samples. Autry is cleared but refuses to join a posse led astray by Ben, who has secretly aligned with the robbers. Meanwhile, Helen witnesses Bartlett robbing the town's bank and follows him to his hideout. Autry frees her and confronts Bartlett in his cabin, leading to a shootout where Bartlett kills Lucas and his brother. Autry later realizes the dead man is not Bartlett but his accomplice.
