Ross Travis

Ross John Travis (born January 9, 1993) is a former American football tight end who played college basketball at Penn State and did not participate in college football. Undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent.

In college, Travis was a three-star recruit and one of Minnesota's top prospects. As a freshman, he started 16 games, averaging 4.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, and won the team's Scrappiest Player Award. Over his four years at Penn State, he averaged 7.0, 8.3, and 5.5 points per game as a sophomore, junior, and senior, respectively. He earned four letters and played in 133 games, starting 98.

Travis's professional career began with the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad in 2015, but he was released and re-signed multiple times. In 2017, he joined the Indianapolis Colts, making his debut with two catches for 33 yards. His season ended prematurely in 2018 due to a torn ACL injury. He was re-signed by the Colts in 2019 but released later that year.

Travis signed with the New York Jets in late 2019, joining their practice squad and being elevated to the active roster in November 2020. In 2021, he played for the Arizona Cardinals before being released again. He briefly joined the Cleveland Browns' practice squad in December 2021 and later signed with the Detroit Lions' practice squad.

Travis's career involved multiple releases and re-signings across several teams, reflecting a challenging path in professional football.
