Louisville Cardinals womens volleyball

The Louisville Cardinals women's volleyball team competes in NCAA Division I as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), having joined in 2014. Home games are played at the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena. The program has had several head coaches since its inception, with Dan Meske currently leading the team since 2025. The team's history began in 1977 under Susan Johns, who coached for three seasons. Scott Luster took over in 1980, securing the program's first conference title and NCAA tournament berth. Don Hardin became the most successful coach in program history during his tenure from 1988 to 1995, leading the team to six regular season conference titles and six NCAA appearances. Leonid Yelin, who coached from 1996 to 2010, is the all-time winningest head coach and guided the Cardinals to four Sweet Sixteen appearances. Anne Kordes, a former Louisville player, coached from 2011 to 2016 before resigning. Dani Busboom Kelly led the team to new heights, including its first Elite Eight appearance and two national championship berths, before leaving in 2025 to coach at Nebraska. Louisville has been part of several conferences: Metro Conference (1977–1994), Conference USA (1995–2004), Big East (2005–2012), American Athletic Conference (2013), and ACC (2014–present). The team has won multiple conference championships, including four Big East tournament titles and six regular season titles.
