K2 TV channel

K2 is an Italian free-to-air television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA, catering to children aged 4 to 14. It was launched on October 1, 2004, initially as a syndicated analogue block from 5pm to 7pm across regional stations, replacing Fox Kids during Jetix's rebranding. By 2009, it became its own digital terrestrial channel.

In 2009, following Disney's rebranding of Jetix Europe into Disney XD, Jetix Italy acquired K2 and other channels, renaming itself Switchover Media. This led to the creation of two additional channels, K2 Extra and K2 Plus, which were later discontinued in December 2012. In January 2013, Discovery Communications acquired Switchover Media, beginning K2's management under Warner Bros. Discovery.

In May 2021, AT&T and Discovery announced a merger, forming Warner Bros. Discovery by April 2022. The deal combined WarnerMedia and Discovery assets, including K2, into a new company led by David Zaslav. K2 now operates under Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA alongside channels like HBO, CNN, and Cartoon Network.

The channel features children's programs such as *Alvin and the Chipmunks*, *Oggy and the Cockroaches*, and *Total Dramarama*. It airs educational content during late-night hours with sister channel Frisbee, including shows like *How It's Made*. Weekends feature Pokémon marathons and movie airings, which are repeated on Saturdays and Sundays. From 2011 to 2021, it broadcast movies from libraries such as MGM, DIC Entertainment, DreamWorks Animation, and Universal Pictures.

K2's current advertising is managed by PRS Media Group.
