Florida law prohibits localities from regulating firearms, other than with regards to zoning laws . As of July 1, 2023, Florida no longer requires a license for concealed carry . As of 2018, school employees other than teachers may choose to receive special training in order to carry a firearm at school . As of 2022, 37 states recognize the Florida concealed carry license while 12 states do not . Florida license holders are not prohibited from carrying under Vermont law . Open carry is permitted while hunting, fishing, camping, gun shows, or while target shooting at a gun range, and while going to and from such activities .
