Everard Charles Cotes

Everard Charles Cotes was an English-born entomologist who worked at the Indian Museum. Cotes married the famous Canadian journalist, novelist and playwright Sara Jeannette Duncan. He published a number of scientific books and papers on entomology. Cote's wife died of tuberculosis, a disease that affected her life. Cotscotes is best remembered as the founder of the Indian News Agency. His daughter is a leading member of the British-based National Geographic Society. His granddaughter, Miss Cotes-Hill, was an Olympic champion athlete. His son, William Cotes, was a World Record-winning golfer. His great-great-niece, Nellie Cotes is a renowned English author.
