Cabinet of Moldova

The Cabinet of Moldova, known as the Government of Moldova, is the executive body responsible for implementing state policies and overseeing public administration. According to the Constitution, it carries out domestic and foreign policy and ensures control over public administration.

Moldova's government structure includes a Prime Minister, a first Deputy Prime Minister, other Deputy Prime Ministers, and ministers. The composition of the cabinet is determined by the Prime Minister, with 14 ministries currently forming part of the executive body. These ministries include:


Moldova has a parliamentary system with legislative power vested in the Parliament. The executive powers are exercised by the Cabinet, which operates under principles of parliamentarism.

The current government, known as the Recean Cabinet, was formed on 16 February 2023, led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean. Following an airport attack, there was a reshuffle of three cabinet positions. Additionally, Evghenia Guțul became the new Governor of Gagauzia, starting her term on 19 July 2023.

The history of Moldova's governments dates back to 1917, including periods under the Moldavian Democratic Republic and the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic, before transitioning to the current Republic of Moldova.
