Brian Floca

Brian Kane Floca, born on December 5, 1969, in Temple, Texas, is an esteemed American writer and illustrator known for his work in children's literature. He holds a degree from Brown University (Class of 1991) and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Floca is renowned for illustrating works by author Avi and for creating numerous nonfiction picture books.

His notable contributions include the Caldecott Medal-winning book "Locomotive" (2014), which also earned him the Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Award Honor that same year. Additionally, he received the Irma Black Award in 2015.
