Beru Revue

Beru Revue was an American rock band formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, active primarily in the 1980s. The group gained a strong local following but achieved limited national success, with their only radio hit being "Hoods A Go-Go." They made their debut at Grendel's Lair on September 6, 1981, and disbanded after a farewell concert at The Chestnut Cabaret on September 24, 1988.

The original lineup included Bob McCafferty (lead vocals), Greg Davis (guitar), Johnny Sacks (bass), Jerry Healy (guitar), Buzz Barkley (keyboards), and Tommy Pinto (drums). After disbanding, McCafferty and Davis formed BeruHaHa in the early 1990s. Plans for a reunion were delayed due to health issues, including the deaths of Sacks (colon cancer) in 2004 and Healy (emphysema) in 2005.

The remaining members, with replacements Mark Julian Teague and Jerry Getz, reunited in 2006 at the Grape Street Pub, followed by additional shows through 2018. They released several albums and EPs, including "I Got a Job" (1983), "The Miracle of Spring" (2009), and live recordings like "Be Careful Tonight" (1984) and "Alive & Well" (2008). Their 2007 and 2008 performances at the Media Theater were well-received, featuring new songs and horn sections. The band returned to recording in 2009 after further live performances.
