Bartitsu

Bartitsu was a martial art and self-defence method originally developed in England in 1898. Edward William Barton-Wright designed Bartitsu by combining elements of boxing, jujitsu, cane-fighting and French kickboxing. Bartitsu has experienced a revival since 2002. In 1903, it was immortalised as "baritsu" (as "bar-te) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In 2003 it became the subject of a film directed by Tom Cruise, directed by Ridley Scott. The film, directed for CBS, is called Bartitsu: The Sword And The Swallow and shot by Tomography. It is out in the U.S. released November 15th.  "The Sword & The Swrap: A Bartitsu Guide" is out now.
