2024 Queensland Cup
The 2024 Queensland Cup season, also known as the Hostplus Cup, was the 29th edition of Queensland's top-level rugby league competition. It featured 15 teams competing over a 27-week period from March to September. Norths Devils won the Grand Final with a 34–20 victory against the Redcliffe Dolphins, who had previously defeated minor premiers Northern Pride in the preliminary final. The lineup of teams remained unchanged from the 2023 season, though there were affiliation changes. The Burleigh Bears affiliated with the Broncos, while the Ipswich Jets joined the Titans. The Townsville Blackhawks (affiliated with South Sydney Rabbitohs) and Western Clydesdales (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs) maintained their affiliations with NSW-based NRL clubs but typically did not receive players from them. However, due to a player availability issue in April, South Sydney loaned a player to the Townsville Blackhawks. In the regular season, Round 8 saw the Western Clydesdales break a 273-day winless streak, defeating the Redcliffe Dolphins 32–30. Ben Cross was sacked as coach of the Ipswich Jets in May following a string of losses. In July, Mackay Cutters parted ways with Michael Comerford, appointing Adam Cuthbertson as interim head coach. Northern Pride clinched the minor premiership in Round 21 after defeating the Sunshine Coast Falcons. The finals series saw Northern Pride secure a 38–0 win over the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the qualifying finals, while Redcliffe Dolphins defeated Northern Pride 17–16 in golden point extra time in the preliminary final.
