2022 Pan American Surf Games
The 2022 Pan American Surf Games, held at Playa Venao in Panama from August 7 to 13, featured 234 athletes from 17 national teams competing in eight events: Open (shortboard), Longboard, SUP surf, and SUP race for both men and women. The event served as a qualifier for the 2023 Pan American Games. Brazil dominated with 15,195 points and six gold medals, while Peru secured second place with 12,017 points and one gold medal. Argentina finished third with 11,055 points and one gold medal, followed by Mexico in fourth with 9,285 points.
The competition ran over seven days, starting with the opening ceremony on August 7, with events beginning on August 8. Athletes earned points based on their performance, with higher positions yielding more points. Points were accumulated to determine team rankings, ensuring each nation's total reflected individual achievements across all events.
