Jimmy Foster, born on March 1, 1977, in Ormond Beach, Florida, was a former part-time NASCAR driver who competed in the Busch Series from 1997 to 1999. Before joining NASCAR, he won over 200 races by the age of 15 in Florida tracks. In 1996, he participated in the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series, securing one win and the Rookie of the Year award while finishing seventh in points. A notable accident during this season led to safety changes, including mandated roof flaps.

Foster made his Busch Series debut in 1997 with Key Motorsports, starting his career with a 36th-place finish at Rockingham but struggled overall, ending the season 51st in points after ten starts. In 1998, he ran five races for Washington-Erving Motorsports, improving his qualifying times to as high as ninth but still failing to achieve consistent finishes, leading to unemployment.

His final Busch Series race came in 1999 at Myrtle Beach Speedway with Blaise Alexander's team, where he started 15th but failed to finish due to overheating. Earlier that year, during a comeback in the Goody's Dash Series, Foster was involved in another major accident at Daytona, highlighting the series' history of significant wrecks.

Foster's NASCAR career ended after his final race in 1999, marked by challenging performances and several high-profile accidents throughout his time in the sport.
