The Big Brawl is a 1980 martial arts action comedy film. It marks Jackie Chan's first attempt to break into the American movie Hollywood market. The film also co-stars Mako, Kristine DeBell, and José Ferrer. It is set primarily in Chicago, Illinois in the 1930s. The Big Brawl was a box office disappointment as it performed below expectations. It was not until 1995 that Rumble in the Bronx was a major hit in American theaters. The cast include established American cast, including Lenny Montana, The Godfather actor Lenny Thel, and Playboy Playmate Kristine deBell. The movie went on to become a box-office hit in China. But it was not a huge success in the US. It came as Chan remained a relative obscurity in North America.
