Anaal Nathrakh are a British extreme metal band formed in 1999 by multi-instrumentalist Mick Kenney and vocalist Dave Hunt. The band's name, meaning "snake's breath" in Irish, was inspired by John Boorman's film Excalibur. They are currently signed to Metal Blade Records and have released eleven studio albums, one EP, and one compilation album. Their music blends elements of grindcore, black metal, death metal, industrial, and symphonic styles, earning them acclaim for their extreme metal sound.

The band's history includes early demos released as an album and significant albums like The Codex Necro (2001), which set a high standard in blackened death metal. Subsequent releases include Domine Non Es Dignus (2004), Eschaton (2006) featuring guest appearances by Shane Embury of Napalm Death, and Hell Is Empty and All the Devils Are Here (2007). They signed with Candlelight Records for In the Constellation of the Black Widow (2009) and later joined Metal Blade Records, releasing Desideratum in 2014. Recent albums include The Whole of the Law (2016), A New Kind of Horror (2018), and Endarkenment (2020).

The core members are Mick Kenney and Dave Hunt, with additional live musicians contributing to their performances. Notable past collaborators include Attila Csihar of Mayhem and Joe Horvath of Circle of Dead Children. Their discography also includes EPs like When Fire Rains Down from the Sky (2003) and compilations such as Total Fucking Necro (2002).
