"Refugees" is the fifth episode of the sixth season of the American television comedy drama Shameless. It was written by co-executive producer Etan Frankel and directed by Wendey Stanzler. The episode was seen by an estimated 1.16 million household viewers and gained a 0.5 ratings share among adults aged 18–49. It received positive reviews from critics, who praised the conflicts in the episode. It is an adaptation of the British series of the same name. The series is set on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. It depicts the poor, dysfunctional family of Frank Gallagher, a neglectful single father of six: Fiona, Phillip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam. In the episode, the Gallaghers face new challengers as they are evicted from their house, and Frank decides to destroy parts of the house and take anything valuable. He also decides to give the new family one more week to stay, but the police arrive shortly and orders the Gallagher family to leave as soon as possible.
