Vicious Rumors is an American power metal band formed in Santa Rosa, California, by Geoff Thorpe in August 1979. The band's original lineup included Mark Tate as vocalist, Jim Cassero as lead guitarist, Jeff Barnacle as bassist, and Bryan Hurt as drummer, though the lineup frequently changed over the years. Their debut album, *Soldiers of the Night*, was released in 1985. Throughout their career, Vicious Rumors has experienced numerous member changes, with notable musicians such as Vinnie Moore, Carl Albert, and Brian Allen contributing to their sound across various albums.
